The point about recorded capture conditions is the part that gets skipped most often. If exposure and white balance were on auto, all a later editor can honestly inherit is a frame of unknown provenance. One practical addition: note the frame index and approximate time the still was pulled, since that narrows down where in the clip the lighting may have shifted. For the workshop illustration, a short written note that the notebook edge is soft and the wall is near clipping helps the next person distinguish a capture limit from a deliberate grade. The illustration use case also means nobody needs to treat it as a live-feed reference.
